Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does "rush week" mean?
This is a time for you to make an informed decisions about whether KGD fits you, and for us to get to know you too!
2. Does rush cost anything?
Nope! Rushing KGD does not cost you anything, only your time.
3. Is KGD a member of the Panhellenic Association?
No, KGD is an independent academic and professional sorority recognized by both the Office of Student Life (OSL) and the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC). We are independent from any of the governing bodies of the Cal Greek Community.
4. What is the difference between "rushing" and "pledging"?Rushing is the process of attending the events planned during our Rush Week, just a chance for you to learn about KGD, meet the sisters, and decide if it is something you would like to be involved in. If a rushee is extended a bid at the end of the Rush Week, then she may choose to complete a pledging process throughout the semester to get to know the sisters of KGD even further, and to develop professionally and as a whole. Pledging is a semester long committment; to learn more, look for our pledge moms at our events! You can also email them email@example.com.
6. Does KGD haze?
Kappa Gamma Delta does not tolerate hazing in any way.
7. Does KGD have a house?
KGD does not maintain an official sorority house. However, most of our sisters do end up becoming roommates more often than not!
8. Why should I rush KGD?
Rush KGD because we are one of the most passionate, fastest-growing, and dedicated organizations at Cal! And also, because there's no harm in just checking us out. It's a good way to meet new people and also get free food!
